Lead Mentor – Scottish Disability Sport Young Start Programme
As the Lead Mentor for the Scottish Disability Sport Young Start programme, Victoria has the privilege of supporting a dynamic group of young individuals across Scotland, from Shetland to Stranraer, along with their dedicated mentors. It is incredibly rewarding to witness these young people achieve their ambitions.
About the Young Start Programme
The Young Start programme is designed to empower young people aged 16 to 24 who live with vision impairment, hearing loss, physical disabilities, and mild learning disabilities. Over the course of one year, participants will develop their confidence and coaching skills while earning valuable coaching qualifications.
What Participants Gain
Through the Young Start programme, participants will:
Achieve a recognised coaching qualification
Connect with other young people with disabilities
Volunteer with disability sports in their local communities
Help raise the profile of disability sport
Collaborate with a mentor to create and accomplish a tailored personal development plan
