Connection really is at the heart of everything we do. It’s something we believe in deeply — connection before content. Without it, real learning and change just don’t land in the same way.

Tonight’s (SSF) workshop Person Centred Approaches — was held with the brilliant team at Intercultural Youth Scotland. As we brought the evening to a close, I asked the group a few simple questions including: What made you smile? And What has stuck with you?

The answer: connection.

Connection across roles, across cultures, and across experience levels. We found common ground through music (Fleetwood Mac and guitars in particular), food (a shared love of kimchi) and simply being present with one another.

There’s something powerful about creating a space where people can show up fully — not just as staff, volunteers, or service users, but as whole human beings. That’s where genuine, person-centred practice starts.

We’re also really looking forward to seeing their gardening project take shape — a beautiful extension of the values we explored together tonight.

If you’re curious about our approach, or want to explore how we can work together, reach out and connect with us today We’d love to hear from you.
